Malveaux Receives Final Heart Defensive Player of the Week Award

BALDWIN CITY - Baker defensive end Eli'Sha Malveaux garnered the final Heart Football Defensive Player of the Week award, presented by Musco, following his performance in the Wildcats' 16-8 victory over Missouri Baptist in the regular-season finale.

Malveaux, a sophomore from Collinsville, Okla., recorded three sacks and eight tackles and had a forced fumble to help lead a Baker defense that kept MBU off the scoreboard until the final two minutes of the game. In his second season at BU, Malveaux has tallied 32 total tackles and leads the team with 10.5 tackles for loss, while his five sacks is tied for most on the team with Brian Lane.

With the Wildcats earning a total of six conference player of the week awards this year, Malveaux joins teammates Seth Simpson (Week 6, Week 7), Canon Karn (Week 4), Truman Juelsgaard (Week 3) and PJ McCallop Jr. (Week 2) in receiving one of the Heart's weekly honors.

Making their second straight trip to the postseason, Malveaux and the Wildcats will square off against No. 20 Pikeville in the first round of the 2024 NAIA Football Championship Series on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. in Baldwin City.
