Harvey Suprasses 1,000 Career Points, Wildcats Earn Tough Win at (RV) Keiser

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - On a night in which Wildcats forward Quentin Harvey eclipsed 1,000 career points, No. 19 Baker came out on top of a tight-knit contest at (RV) Keiser, defeating the Seahawks, 63-58 on Friday night in the first game of BU's Florida road trip.

Harvey led the Wildcats with 20 points in the game, putting him at 1,011 career points in his two-plus seasons at Baker.

The Wildcats, who scored a combined 186 points between their first two games, saw a much slower tempo in West Palm Beach, Fla., taking a 28-26 halftime lead after a low-scoring first half. The two teams exchanged leads in the second half before the Wildcats went in front halfway through and held on down the stretch to come away with their third straight win.

Both sides shot under 40 percent from the field and the first free throws of the game didn't come until the second half with Keiser knocking down all but one of its 12 free throws. Baker owned a significant advantage from the three-point line, draining seven threes in the game while the Seahawks hit just three.

Harvey went to work immediately in the first half, scoring three quick buckets mixed in with a three from Ty Henry to push Baker out in front early. Harvey would go on to put up 17 of his 20 points in the first half.

Back-to-back layups from Harvey kept BU's lead at a six-point margin before the Seahawks claimed six of the final eight points in the half to cut the Wildcats' lead to two points at the midway point.

Keiser went on a 17-10 run to open the second half, leading by five points with just over 11 minutes left before Baker's defense turned up the pressure and earned a handful of key steals to put BU back in front.

Henry's second triple of the night pulled the Wildcats within one at 46-45 before a tip-in by Harvey put them up for good.

After Keiser made it a one-point ballgame, Kaimen Lennox and Noah Rigatuso delivered a huge six-point swing with Lennox swishing one from deep and Rigatuso converting an old-fashioned three-point play to give Baker a 59-52 lead with just over three minutes left to play.

Making only three of their first seven free throws, the Wildcats pulled it together at the right time and sealed the game by going 5-for-7 from the line in the final four minutes to claim its second road win of the season.

Henry finished as the only other Wildcat in double figures with 11 points, while Lennox had nine points. Rigatuso battled through foul trouble and finished with seven points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Earning first-team all-conference honors in back-to-back seasons, Harvey, a senior from Tulsa, Okla. has averaged over 16 points per game in his career, totaling 495 points in his first year at BU in 2022-23 before scoring 467 points last year.

Baker closes out its weekend in the Sunshine State with a top-25 matchup at No. 22 Florida Memorial tomorrow (Nov. 9) with tip-off set for 6 p.m. (CT) in Miami Gardens, Fla.
