Vigna Named Heart Baseball Pitcher of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Baker baseball's freshman pitcher Tyler Vigna was selected as the Heart of America Pitcher of the Week following his performance in the Wildcats' 4-2 victory over Dakota Wesleyan yesterday.

Vigna tossed five innings of no-hit ball in his home debut on Sunday to lead Baker to a 4-2 win over the Tigers in the second game of the doubleheader. The freshman from Lawrence, Kan. struck out seven before turning things over to the bullpen in the sixth inning in a non-conference sweep for BU following an 8-0 victory in game one.

Baker will return to Sauder Field on Tuesday, February 25 for a set of games against Dakota State and Midland, beginning with a matchup versus the Trojans at 2 p.m. in Baldwin City.
