Karlin Selected Heart Baseball Player of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Camden Karlin of the Baker baseball team took home this week's Heart Baseball Player of the Week award, presented by BoxOut, following his performance in the Wildcats' 5-1 outing last week.

Karlin went 11-for-18 (.611) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBI for the week, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance in game two of BU's four-game sweep of Peru State this past weekend. Playing in his first set of conference games since 2023 after missing all of last year with an injury, Karlin hit two home runs and his second triple of the spring in an 11-3 victory in game two on Saturday.

The senior from Lawrence, Kan. also made three relief appearances with 4.1 scoreless innings and not allowing a hit while picking up his first save of the season in a 7-4 win on Sunday.

It becomes the second straight conference player of the week honor for BU after Tyler Vigna was named Heart Pitcher of the Week last week.

After having their midweek matchup at Saint Mary moved due to weather, Karlin and the Wildcats' next scheduled outing is a weekend road trip to Fayette, Mo. to take on No. 14 Central Methodist with the series starting on Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m.
