FREMONT, Neb. – The Baker cheer and dance teams traveled to Fremont, Neb. where they competed in two separate competitions at the Midland Invitational on Friday night.

The BU dance team took home first place with a final score of 84.2 to earn a championship in its second competition of the season. The Wildcats improved on their mark from last week's Falcon Invite that saw them finish with runner-up honors.

Competing in the nightcap of the spirit squad doubleheader, the Wildcats cheer team came in fourth in their first performance of the 2024 competition season, finishing just behind third-place Dordt (65.30) with a score of 65.07.

Up next, it will be quick turnaround for the BU cheer squad as they will head to a pair of competitions hosted by Grand View, starting with the Viking Classic on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m. in Des Moines, Iowa. The dance team will compete next at Concordia's Day of Duals on Feb. 10 in Seward, Neb.
