Baker Cheer Places Fourth at Thresher Invite

NEWTON, Kan. - After a couple of weeks off, the Baker cheer team continued their competition season by performing at the Thresher Invite, hosted by Bethel, on Saturday in Newton, Kan. where the Wildcats earned a fourth-place finish.

BU improved on the scores from its previous outing at the Midland and Grand View competitions in late January, totaling a score of 69.15 in the first round before adding another five points to its score with a 74.98 in round two.

The Wildcats marked the third-best score in round two, but finished fourth overall in the competition, which featured a field of six teams. Saint Ambrose won the event with their best score coming in at 97.10, while the only other Heart of America Conference team there was Graceland who came in seventh.

Up next, the BU cheer squad will play hosting duties alongside the dance team as the Wildcats host their annual Baker Classic on March 1st at 12 p.m. in the Collins Center.
