Wildcats Earn Dance Title at MNU Invite, Close Out Busy Cheer & Dance Weekend with Baker Classic

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker cheer and dance teams each competed in a pair of competitions this past weekend with the MNU Invite on Friday where dance claimed its second title of the season and the Wildcats' Baker Classic, held on Saturday in the Collins Center.

On Friday, the dance squad took home the title at the MNU Invite for the fifth straight year on a winning score of 83.93. Baker cheer earned its first top-three finish of the weekend after they scored a 76.33 to place third in the competition.

Hosting their annual competition, the Wildcats came back and welcomed a total of eight cheer teams and four dance teams to Collins on Saturday. BU dance (86.73) finished a half-point behind first-place Midland (87.20) to take runner-up honors. The cheer team came away with its second straight third-place showing after rounding out Saturday's top-three with a score of 73.47.

Up next, the Baker dance team will head to the Innovative Open Championship on Feb. 25 in Olathe, Kan. before both squads return to Collins for the 2024 Hear Cheer & Dance Championships on March 9 in Baldwin City.
