Bejarano Earns Heart Dancer of the Week Honors

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Junior Zach Bejarano of the Baker dance team has been selected this week's Heart Dancer of the Week, following his performance in the Wildcats' busy weekend that featured a pair of competitions, including their own Baker Classic.

Bejarano helped lead the Wildcats to take home the title at the MNU Invite on Friday for the fifth straight year on a winning score of 83.93. On Saturday, BU dance (86.73) finished a half-point behind first-place Midland (87.20) to take runner-up honors at the Baker Classic, held in the Collins Center.

The junior from Kansas City, Kan. was an all-conference selection last year and has been a part of a Wildcats dance squad that is coming off back-to-back Heart championships. Bejarano is the second BU dancer to earn the conference weekly honor after teammate Katelyn Knaussman was the first recipient of the award for 2024.

Bejarano and the Wildcats will head to the Innovative Open Championship on Feb. 25 in Olathe, Kan. before returning to Collins as Baker hosts the 2024 Hear Cheer & Dance Championships on March 9 in Baldwin City.
