Baker Dance Wraps Up Regular-Season Competition with Innovative Open Championship

OLATHE, Kan. – The Baker dance team closed out the regular-season portion of its 2023-24 competition season with a trip to the Innovative Open Championship on Sunday, hosted at Olathe East High School where a first-place finish in the team routine highlighted the outing for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats took home the title in the team routine competition and added a pair of second-place finishes in the jazz and hip hop categories as well. Baker won a DTU national championship in team performance at last year's DTU College Classic in Orlando, Fla.

Baker wraps up a regular season that saw them earn a couple of team titles after taking first place at the Midland Invitational and MNU Invite earlier this year.

Up next, the Wildcats will host the 2024 Heart Cheer & Dance Conference Championships with the conference competition set to take place on Saturday, March 9 beginning at 10 a.m. inside the Collins Center in Baldwin City.
