Jones Earns Wildcats’ Second Straight Heart Dancer of the Week Award

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Senior Emma Jones of the Baker dance team was named this week's Heart Dancer of the Week, following her performance at the Innovative Open Championships this past weekend in Olathe, Kan.

Jones helped lead a Wildcats squad that earned a title in the team performance at Sunday's DTU event, held at Olathe East High School, and added a couple of second-place finishes in the jazz and hip hop categories as well.

The senior from Shawnee, Kan., garnered NAIA All-American honorable mention honors and was a first-team all-conference selection for head coach Lynsey Payne last season. She is the second straight BU dancer - and third overall - to receive the conference's weekly honor after teammates Zach Bejarano (Week 4) and Katelyn Knaussman (Week 1) each won the award earlier this season.

Jones and the Wildcats will host the 2024 Heart Cheer & Dance Conference Championships with the conference competition set to take place on Saturday, March 9 beginning at 10 a.m. inside the Collins Center in Baldwin City.
