Carson Fitzgerald Named National Association of Esports Coaches and Directors Player of the Month

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Competing in both Rocket League and Valorant, Carson Fitzgerald has been named the National Association of Esports Coaches and Directors College Player of the Month.

"Carson, 'Fitz' as we call him, has been an instrumental part of getting Baker University Esports off the ground over the last three semesters," head coach Toby Ebel said. "He plays just about every video game known, and he plays them all at a very high level. So, this is a very fitting honor to be named the Collegiate National Player of the Month for October by the National Association of Esports Coaches and Directors."

Competing in both NACE Rocket League and Valorant tournaments, Fitzgerald has quickly proven himself as a Rocket League team captain for the second year in a row. In the month of October, Fitgerald helped Baker to a 2-2 record in Rocket League, scoring 18 goals on 47 shots, while also accumulation 8 assists and 19 saves.

In Valorant, he has led the team with a 2.15 KDA throughout the month of October and a combat rating of 283, including a match against Dawson Buccaneers in which he went 25-6.

"Fitz has been a team captain of two different titles for us including Rocket League and League of Legends, while also competing in Valorant," coach Ebel said. "His character and attitude exemplifies exactly what Baker University represents and strives for in all of their student-athletes. I am extremely proud of him and excited to see what he does for us next spring."
