Phillips Selected KCAC Defensive Player of the Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker's Faith Phillips was named KCAC Women's Flag Football Defensive Player of the Week following her performance in the Wildcats' back-to-back victories at home last week to close out the 2024 regular season.

Phillips recorded an interception in both games of Baker's homestand versus Cottey and Southwestern last week. Along with forcing a turnover, she had eight tackles against the Comets on April 8th and added her sixth interception of the year with a pick against the Moundbuilders in Saturday's regular-season finale.

The freshman from Irvington, N.J. becomes the first Wildcat to earn a KCAC Player of the Week honor after helping lead a Baker defense that recorded three shutouts against conference opponents this season.

Securing the No. 3 seed with a 9-4 conference record, Phillips and the Wildcats make their postseason debut with the 2024 KCAC Women's Flag Football Championships taking place this weekend.

Baker will take on No. 6 Cottey in the KCAC Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 20 at 10 a.m. at the Paragon Sports Complex in Lee's Summit, Mo. You can watch a live stream of the game here.
