
Wildcats Clip Owls, 39-0 in 2025 Home Debut
BALDWIN CITY - The Baker women's flag football team opened its 2025 home campaign with a 39-0 blowout over William Woods on Thursday night inside Liston Stadium.
In her Baldwin City debut, newcomer quarterback Tara Llorente threw for over 150 yards and nearly reached the century mark in rushing with 96 yards on the ground. Four different Wildcats caught a touchdown pass with Jaylin Harris and Mahagonay Simmons both hauling in grabs in the second quarter.
Kaley Phillips and Faith Phillips each caught a touchdown pass in the second half and the pair accounted for all three of BU's defensive interceptions in the game with Kaley Phillips coming away with two of them.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Wildcats turned in a three-score outing in the second with Llorente tossing two straight touchdown passes before running in a score to give Baker a 19-0 halftime lead.
Llorente added another touchdown pass midway through the third quarter, finding K. Phillips from six-yards out. Llorente tacked on another rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter before capping the scoring on a huge 27-yard strike to F. Phillips.
Baker heads out for its first road game of the KCAC season with a matchup at Southwestern on Saturday, March 1 with kickoff set for 1 p.m. in Winfield, Kan.
