Baker Bounces Back With Strong 83-67 Win Over Park on Wednesday

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Bouncing back nicely after their first conference loss of the season, the Baker men's basketball team got back on track on Wednesday, defeating Park University, 83-67 inside the Collins Center.

Baker had three players score in double figures on the night as Ty Henry scored 15 points while Keynan Russell also added 15 points off the bench. Noah Rigatuso also hit four three's in the game and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds to record a double-double.

Just under 10 minutes into the game, the Wildcats held onto a slim lead, but a three-pointer from Braden Griffiths helped Baker stretch their lead to 18-12 with 10:09 to play in the first half.

With just over two minutes to play in the half, the Pirates trailed by just two, but Baker would hold Park scoreless for the final two minutes as they finished the half on an 11-0 run to take a 43-30 lead into the locker room for halftime.

Throughout the first eight minutes of the second half, but teams traded scores, but with 12:27 to play Park had cut the lead to six points. That is the closest the Pirates would get as Baker added to their lead for the remainder of the game, eventually grabbing their largest lead of the game at 22 points, before eventually winning the game, 83-67.

Baker is now 6-3 on the season and 4-1 in Heart of America play. They will hit the road on Saturday, Dec. 2, to take on Clarke University at 2:00 p.m., in Dubuque, Iowa.
