No. 12 Baker Rolls Past Ravens, 70-47 for 11th Straight Win

ATCHISON, Kan. - Playing on the road for the first time in 2025, No. 12 Baker stormed past conference rival Benedictine, 70-47 on Wednesday night to earn the Wildcats' 11th straight win and keep their perfect Heart of America record intact at 11-0.

The Wildcats held the Ravens to just 18 points in a low-scoring first half and dropped 41 points in the second half to come away with their fifth win by at least a 20-point margin this season.

BU connected on nine 3-pointers which was half of the total shots Benedictine made in the whole game with the Wildcats holding the hosts to a dismal 17-for-55 (31%) night from the field.

Noah Rigatuso led Baker in scoring with 18 points, while teammates Ahmed Mahgoub (15) and Kaimen Lennox (14) followed with double-digit outings as well.

It was a three from Ty Henry that kicked off the night for BU though with Rigatuos adding one a little bit later to put the Wildcats in control from the get-go. After the Ravens cut it to a three-point game, Lennox drained one from deep and Quentin Harvey chipped in a stick-back to make it a 23-14 lead for BU.

Each team labored through the final six minutes of the opening half with neither side making more than three shots the rest of the way as Harvey hit a long-range two with his foot on the line as time expired to give BU a 29-18 halftime lead.

After the offense was held in check for most of the first half, Rigatuso and Mahgoub got the Wildcats going in the second half with Mahgoub swishing a three and Rigatuso getting to the rim on a couple of tough drives.

Mahgoub sank back-to-back triples to make it a 50-29 lead for BU with 11:38 left as the Wildcats maintained a 20-point distance for the remainder of the game. Cason Richardson followed up a trey from Rigatuso with a three of his own to push it out to a 25-point lead with just over four minutes left to go.

Baker emptied its bench for the final few minutes as Tommy Faseru knocked down the last three and Lucas Lyons slipped behind the defense for an easy bucket off of a pass from Jimmy Dorsey to cap a 70-47 victory for BU.

After having the game postponed due to the weather this past weekend, it was announced on Wednesday that the make-up date for the William Penn game will be on January 20 at 3 p.m. in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Up next, the Wildcats will welcome Clarke into the Collins Center on Saturday, Jan. 11 for a 2 p.m. tipoff in Baldwin City.
