
Women Finish 14th, Men Finish 26th at Mid States Championships
WICHITA, Kan. – In its second tournament of the 2024-25 season, Baker bowling competed in the Mid States Championships this past weekend, hosted by Newman University and Wichita State University at Bowlero Northridge in Wichita, Kan.
The BU women finished the tournament in 14th with a total pinfall of 7,672. The Wildcats were led by sophomore Aviana Ordonez, who averaged 175 to finish 41st out of 213 bowlers competing in the tournament. Dylan Holmes followed close behind, finishing 44th on a 172 average.
On the men's side, Baker finished the tournament in 26th with a total pinfall of 7,870. The Wildcats were led by junior Brett Gamber who averaged 179 to finish 76th out of 308 bowlers. Ken Rowland was the next highest with 977 for five out of the six total games to finish in 109th.
Both teams will be back in action for their first home tournament of the season with the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge this weekend. The men will be bowling at Gage Bowl in Topeka, Kan. and will start Saturday's day one at 9:00 a.m., followed by Sunday's day two at 8:00 a.m. The women will be at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kan. and will start on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. and on Sunday at 8:45 a.m.
