Baker Bowling Competes at the NAIA Invitational I & II Tournaments
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Baker bowling teams traveled to Louisville, Ky. to compete in two one-day tournaments with the NAIA BCA Invite, held at Kingpin Lanes this past weekend.
The first tournament consisted of five team games with the BU women finishing eighth out of 17 teams. Sophomore Kaleigh Buckalew was the highest on the team finishing 40th with a total pinfall of 874 for a 175 average. Aviana Ordonez followed right behind, finishing 41st and Dylan Holmes finished in 43rd.
In the second tournament of the weekend, which consisted of 25 baker games, the Wildcats were up and down throughout the day with a total pinfall of 4,085 to finish ninth in the team standings. Their highest five-game set happened in their third set with a 919 total. Their other set totals were 753, 810, 717, and 886.
On the men's side, they finished the first tournament in 11th out of 18 teams. Junior Brett Gamber led the Wildcats, individually, finishing 20th with a total pinfall of 1,053 for a 210 average. PJ Dokolas and Paul Stigall were the next two highest finishers in 79th and 86th, respectively.
During the second tournament, the men struggled to improve after their 923 first-set total which would be their highest of the day. Their next four set totals were 901, 885, 812, and 818 for a total pinfall of 4,339 to finish in 12th.
Both teams will be back in action December 18th- 21st as they travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the Glen Carlson Invitational and the Collegiate Shootout.
