
Three Wildcats Earn All-Conference Honors, Baker Bowling Conference Run Ends Early
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Baker bowling teams traveled to Columbia, Mo. this past weekend to compete in the 2024-25 Heart of America Conference Bowling Championships.
Heading into the weekend, the Baker women's team drew the five seed after the conclusion of the regular season and started their conference run by facing No. 4 Culver-Stockton. The two teams split the first two sets, requiring the teams to bowl an additional best-of-five baker match. The Wildcats came up short in the winner-take-all set to fall to the consolation bracket.
The first round of the consolation bracket saw the Wildcats face top-seed Mount Mercy. Baker and the Mustangs split the first two sets, forcing BU into its second straight third set. The Wildcats prevailed this time and eliminated the conference frontrunner from the tournament.
The Wildcats then faced No. 2 William Penn where they would lose 2-0 and end their conference championship bid.
On the men's side, Baker came into the tournament as the three seed after the conclusion of their regular season and opened up the champhionship with a matchup against No. 6 Culver-Stockton. The match ended, 2-0 in favor of Culver-Stockton and the Baker men moved down to the consolation bracket.
Baker's second match of the day featured a matchup against No. 2 Clarke. The Wildcats bounced back from their first match and defeated the Pride, 2-0, moving on to face No. 4 Missouri Baptist. BU came up short against the Spartans, falling 2-0 to bring their conference tournament run to a close.
Individually, the men had three bowlers earn all-conference honors. Junior Ken Rowland was named Second Team All-Conference while Josh King and PJ Dokolas both landed on the honorable mention list.
Both teams will return to the lanes on March 8th and 9th as they travel to Dallas, Texas to compete in the 2025 USBC Intercollegiate Team Sectionals.
