Dines Named Heart Men’s Golfer of the Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker freshman golfer Gavin Dines earned Heart of America Men's Golfer of the Week honors after coming in first place at the Virginia McCoy Invite last week.

Dines, a freshman from Olathe, Kan., shot a 73 in the first round and a 69 on the final round to capture the individual championship among a field of over 50 golfers. He helped lead a Wildcats squad that finished tied for fifth in the team standings at the two-day tournament, hosted by Park at The National Golf Club of Kansas City.

With the BU women's team in action at the TPC Deere Run this week (Oct. 16-17), Dines and both Baker golf teams will compete next at the Conference Preview on Oct. 30-31 at The Preserve at Lake Rathbun in Moravia, Iowa.
