Lisec Takes Second, Wildcats Earn Pair of Top-Four Team Finishes at CBC Invite

CABOT, Ark. - Drew Lisec earned Baker golf's second straight top-three individual finish to lead a Wildcats men's team that came in fourth, while the women took third at this week's Central Baptist Invite, held at the Cypress Creek Golf Course in Cabot, Ark.

Overall, the BU men totaled a combined score of 929 to tie with Bethel (Tenn.) and finished 10 strokes behind the host CBC, who finished as the runner-up. Four of the five golfers on the women's side finished among the top-20 with the Wildcats placing third in a pack of six teams.

Lisec shot a 69 in Monday's second round and followed by shooting even par in his final round on Tuesday to finish with a 220 to tie for second place. Gavin Dines gave the Wildcats a second top-10 finisher after placing seventh with a tournament score of 223. Gabe McKeown carried over an opening round score of 76 and shot a 78 in the second round to finish as the third-leading scorer for BU.

After earning third-place honors at Baker's season-opening tournament last week, Paula Martin-Montero followed with another top-five finish in Arkansas, tallying a score of 160 to place fifth. Reagan Kauth shot an 84 in both rounds to finish in 13th, while Gracyn Nutsch and Mallory Nelson tied for 17th with Nutsch registering a career-low round of 82 in Tuesday's final round.

Baker continues with the spring season with a trip to the Park Invite on March 25-26, held at The Deuce at the National Golf Club in Parkville, Mo.
