Dines Named NAIA Men’s Golfer of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Gavin Dines of the Baker men's golf team was selected NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week following his first-place finish at the Hesston Spring Shootout last week.

Dines, a sophomore from Olathe, Kan., delivered a record-breaking performance for the Wildcats last week, setting the individual 54-hole record with a score of 209 to top the 57-player leaderboard. He broke former Wildcat Mason Ahlberg's previous-best mark (215), which was set in 2019.

The sophomore from Olathe, Kan. claimed his second straight individual championship after taking first at the Park Spring Classic yesterday. Dines came in first at the Heart Conference Preview in the fall.

After coming away with a third-place team finish at Park's tournament, Dines and the Wildcats will turn their attention to postseason action with the 2025 Heart of America Conference Championships, which will be held at The Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Overland Park, Kan. The men's tournament kicks off on Monday, April 12 and concludes on Tuesday, April 13.
