Dijkhuis, Kamaras Sweep Heart Player of the Week Awards

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Falco Dijkhuis and Gyorgy Kamaras of Baker men's soccer were selected as the Heart of America's WinWon Men's Soccer Players of the Week, following their performances in the Wildcats' victories over No. 24 Central Methodist and Clarke last week.

Kamaras earned offensive player of the week honors after recording four goals and an assist across the two matches. He scored a goal in the Wildcats' 3-2 victory over the 24th-ranked Eagles on Wednesday before going on to notch his second hat trick of the season with three goals against the Pride in a 4-1 win on Saturday. A junior forward from Mogyorod, Hungary, Kamaras has scored 11 goals on the season, which ranks third in the NAIA, and has chipped in four assists to give him a total of 26 points in 2023.

Dijkhuis registered two assists and played nearly every minute of both matches for the BU backline last week, logging 87 minutes against the Eagles and playing the full 90 against the Pride. He set up two of Baker's four goals against Clarke, first with Hunter French's game-opening goal and then connecting with Kamaras' run on the first goal of his hat trick.

With a 6-1-3 overall record, Baker has earned three top-25 wins and is unbeaten through three games of conference play with a 2-0-1 record against Heart opponents.

The Wildcats head out for a conference road match on Saturday, Sept. 30 as they face Culver-Stockton at 5 p.m. in Canton, Mo.
