Kamaras Named Heart Offensive Player of the Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker forward Gyorgy Kamaras was selected as the Heart of America's WinWon Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring all three goals in Baker's 3-2 victory over Graceland on Saturday.

Kamaras earned his third hat trick of the year in Saturday's Senior Night win against the Yellowjackets and notched the game-winner in the 69th minute to put the Wildcats up for good in the conference bout. His first goal came on a free kick from the top of the box to give Baker a 1-0 lead just four minutes into the match before converting on a penalty in the 38th minute to make him a perfect 7-for-7 on PKs this season.

With 18 goals in 2023, Kamaras ranks third in the NAIA in goals this year, while his 12 goals against just conference opponents is one more than the Heart's next leading goal scorer for the season. The junior from Mogyorod, Hungary has posted four multi-goal games this fall, including a four-score outing against Baptist Bible in the season-opener and a three-goal performance against Clarke on Sept. 23.

Kamaras and the Wildcats wrap up the 2023 regular season with a pair of road matches this week, starting with a matchup at No. 22 MidAmerica Nazarene on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 3:30 p.m. in Olathe, Kan. before the regular-season finale at Mount Mercy on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
