Kamaras Earns NAIA All-America Third Team Honor

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Coming off a year in which he finished as one of the NAIA's top goal scorers, Gyorgy Kamaras of the Baker men's soccer team was named to the NAIA All-America Third Team as the organization announced its postseason honors on Monday.

It becomes Kamaras' second All-American honor of his decorated career after landing on the second team in 2021. He is the 10th player in BU men's soccer program history to garner multiple All-American laurels with former Wildcat Lucas Jacobs being the most recent after earning the postseason honor in both 2018 and 2019.

After helping lead a Wildcats team that went unbeaten in their first five conference games, Kamaras was selected as the Heart Most Valuable Player of the Year and received Offensive Player of the Year honors to go along with his third straight first team all-conference selection.

Kamaras racked up 18 goals during the regular season with three of those coming on hat tricks, including a four-goal outing against Baptist Bible in the season opener. With four assists on the season, he totaled a league-high 40 points to finish 15 points higher than the next Heart player (25) during the regular season.

The junior from Mogyorod, Hungary ranked seventh among all NAIA goal scorers and registered 81 shots this year which ranked fifth nationally. Kamaras was named the Heart Freshman of the Year in 2021.

Kamaras and the Wildcats closed out a 2023 season that saw them finish with a 9-7-3 record after starting the year going unbeaten through their first six matches. With nine victories, Baker matched its most wins in a season since 2019.
