
Glasper Qualifies for Nationals, Wildcats Play Host to 2025 ZK Invite
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker track and field hosted its second and final home track meet of the season, welcoming 13 total teams and 430 athletes to compete in the 2025 ZK Invite on Saturday in Baldwin City, Kan.
Additionally, Baker celebrated its Senior Day during the track meet on Saturday and honored 18 seniors for their dedication and contributions to the BU track and field program. Those seniors included, Wyatt Allen, Trevor Bolden, Kristi Chambers, Alexander Claessens, Anthony Davis, Jamesperry Frazier, Kameron Glasper, Jude Graham, Ryan Jensen, Aalia Khan,
Naomi Kilson, Aidan Massey, Kaiya Mckie, Caleb Nelson, Manowa Ngenzirabona, Peyton Peterson, Rachel Sterner, and Tavius Woodall look.
The Wildcats earned their second national qualifier of the outdoor season with Kameron Glasper securing his spot in the men's discus. Glasper, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., cleared the NAIA 'B' standard in the event with a throw of 49.68 meters, which gave him first-place honors as well.
Glasper also turned in a runner-up finish in the shot put (14.64m) and took fifth in the hammer throw (42.08m) and 13th in the javelin (41.25m).
Alexis Summers swept the women's sprints after clocking a personal-best time in the 100m (12.00) and matching her fastest 200m time with a 24.79. Both marks rank top three among conference sprinters with her 12-second 100m time from this weekend sitting at second best.
PJ McCallop placed fourth in both the men's 200m and the 400m and ran his fastest times of the season in each race as well. McCallop went 22.18 in the 200m and finished just under 50 seconds in the 400m with a 49.98.
Michael Knaussman was the first runner to cross the finish line in the men's 3K with the freshman from Lenexa, Kan. pacing the field with a time of 9:17.41.
In the field events, Nelson and CarVelle Jones each came away with a runner-up finish in their respective events with Nelson's first throw in the men's javelin (56.99m) placing him second, while Jones took second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.61 meters.
Marta Piantanida chipped in a second-place showing in the women's discus (40.36m), while Coffey and Jonathan Ruiz each had third-place finishes. Coffey placed third in the javelin (36.88m) and Ruiz's 3.45m clearance was good enough to finish in third in the men's pole vault.
Hannah Jensen earned a fourth-place finish in the triple jump with her best distance coming at 10.67 meters.
All three of the BU women's relays finished in the top three in their respective races with the 4x400m relay (Sterner, Rylee Lansdown, Bailey Arceneaux and Shanniel Graham) and 4x800m relay (Chambers, Haley Thompson, Haley Carter and Ellie Barnard) teams both taking second, while the 4x100 team of Jailah Robinson, Londyn Cage, Makenna Longacre and Marley Battles came in third.
Up next, Baker will head to the 2025 Heart of America Conference Outdoor Championships with the conference meet being hosted by Central Methodist this year. The meet will kick off on Friday, May 2 and conclude on Saturday, May 3 in Fayette, Mo.
