Baker Cross Country Competes at Gans Creek Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Baker cross country teams traveled to Columbia, Mo. on Friday morning to compete at the Gans Creek Classic where the women's team finished 11th overall and the men came in 12th.

Running in their first 6K of the fall, the Baker women finished just outside of the top-10 with 293 points, while fellow Heart of America team MidAmerica Nazarene finished behind the Wildcats in 14th. The Baker men totaled 365 points to place 12th and finished just ahead of the Pioneers men (398) who took 13th in the 8K race.

Brooke Allen was first across for the BU women, clocking a 24:47.9 and placing 58th among the event's 165 runners. Haley Carter (24:55.1) followed closely behind Allen and placed 60th, while Natalie Kennedy (25:48.2), Peyton Peterson (26:27.2) and Jana Landreth (27:06.8) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats.

On the men's side, Christopher Jackson paced the Wildcats with a time of 27:55.6 which placed him 85th overall. Jaden Vohs came in 94th after finishing at the 28:03.8 mark, while Davin Johnson recorded a time of 28:15.2. The final two point scorers for BU were Wyatt Allen (29:04.4) and Zain Khan (29:23.2).

The Wildcats continue with the 2023 cross country season with a local race in Haskell's Billy Mills Invite which takes place on Oct. 7 at 9:15 a.m. in Lawrence, Kan.
