Cross Country Earns Nine Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete Honors

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker cross country teams had a total of nine members recognized as Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes as announced by the national office.

The Wildcats were among a group of over 1,100 cross country runners between the two teams to earn the prestigious award with 626 women's scholar-athletes and 491 from the men's side.

Representing the BU women were Blaise Ball, Ellie Barnard, Evelyn Roesner, Haley Thompson, Nicole Merical, Rachel Sterner, Sam Slife, while Jude Graham and Zain Khan were the two honorees selected from the BU men's team.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
