Bell Selected Heart Softball Player of the Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Sophomore catcher Rilee Bell was named Heart Softball Player of the Week following her performance in Baker's 3-1 outing at the Friends Invitational this past weekend.

Bell turned in a solid outing in Wichita, homering in three straight games, including a grand slam in the opener, and bagging nine RBI for the weekend. She registered BU's first grand slam of the season as part of a six-run seventh inning for the Wildcats in their victory against Sterling in the weekend opener on Friday before adding home runs against Southwestern Christian and Hastings.

The transfer from Benedictine is in her first year with the Wildcats after playing in 39 games for the Ravens last season. She has a trio of three-hit games already in 2024 with two of them coming in Wichita against Sterling and Hastings.

Bell and the Wildcats will take a trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to take part in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic on March 5-8. Baker opens up the tournament with a game against Penn State Schuylkill on Tuesday, March 5 at 8 a.m.
