Bray Earns Second Heart Player of the Week Award

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - For the second time this season, senior slugger Savannah Bray was named Heart Softball Player of the Week after her performance in Baker softball's back-to-back series sweeps this past weekend.

Bray punctuated the Wildcats' four-game sweep of Peru State and Missouri Valley this past weekend with an electric 5-for-5 outing against Missouri Valley in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader where she blasted two home runs and totaled five RBI. She went 3-for-5 between her two games against the Bobcats on Saturday, including a three-run double in the nightcap.

It marks the second time the senior from Olathe, Kan. has received the award after winning it back on February 19th during non-conference play. Overall, the Wildcats have received five of the conference's weekly honors with Kira Baker joining Bray as a two-time honoree and Rilee Bell, who won in early March.

Heading into the home stretch of regular-season action, Bray and the Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, April 20, when they travel to Lamoni, Iowa, to take on Graceland at 1 p.m. Baker will turn around and host a home doubleheader with William Penn on Sunday, April 21 at 1 p.m. in Baldwin City.
