Wildcats Land Three on Women’s Basketball All-Conference Teams

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - With a pair of two-time honorees, Baker women's basketball had three players - Jaelyn Two Hearts, Leah Van Weelden and Emma Cunningham - receive all-conference recognition as the 2024 Heart Women's Basketball All-Conference teams and postseason awards were announced on Friday.

Two Hearts (Sr., Fort Totten, N.D.) and Van Weelden (Sr., Marion, Iowa) were named to the second team after leading the Wildcats in scoring this season with both of them averaging more than 14 points per game. Both players eclipsed 1,000 career points during the regular season.

A transfer from Haskell, Two Hearts scored in double figures in 21 of the 28 games she played in this season and dropped a season-high 26 points at Benedictine in the final conference game of 2023. She dished out a team-best 69 assists, while adding 38 steals on the defensive end.

Van Weelden, who was an honorable mention on last year's all-conference list, marked 20-point outings in four of her last 12 games, including games against Graceland (Jan. 10) and MidAmerica Nazarene (Feb. 14) where she posted a season-high 25 points in both contests. She accounted for 104 of BU's 269 made free throws after going 104-for-148 at the line this season.

For the second straight year, Cunningham (Sr., Andover, Kan.) earned honorable-mention honors after coming close to finishing with a double-double average for the season. She averaged 11.8 points per game and pulled down a team-high 207 rebounds to finish with a total of six double-doubles in her senior campaign.

Baker finished up a 2023-24 season that saw them go 3-25 overall and 3-21 in conference play with 14 of their losses coming within single digits.
