Baker Bowling Competes in Final Regular-Season Tournament at Hoosier Classic

INDIANAPOLIS – The Baker bowling teams competed in the Hoosier Classic this past weekend in their final regular-season tournament of the 2023-24 season.

The women had a solid start to the tournament, finishing day one in 18th. They bowled six team games with totals of 901, 887, 1031, 1019, 954, and 878. The Wildcats were led by senior Kinsey Miller, who placed first individually out of 471 bowlers. She bowled a six-game total of 1388, averaging 231.3. Her two highest games, 278 and 279, came in games three and four. Baker's next highest finisher was Dylan Holmes, rolling an 1138 total for a 189.7 average, finishing 98th.

The women struggled during the second day of the competition. They bowled three five-game baker sets with 712, 794, and 805 totals. The Wildcats would finish the tournament in 38th out of 66 teams.

On the men's side, the Wildcats finished day one 43rd out of 78 teams. They bowled six team games with totals of 905, 823, 954, 1025, 989, and 975. Sophomore Ken Rowland led the Wildcats, placing 93rd out of 586 bowlers. Rowland rolled a six-game total of 1202 for a 200.3 average. His highest game, 242, came in game four of the tournament. Baker's next highest finisher was Brett Gamber, who finished 108th overall, rolling an 1186 six-game total for a 197.7 average.

The men struggled during the baker game portion of the Hoosier Classic. They rolled three five-game baker totals of 855, 869, and 846. The men would finish the tournament in 45th.

With the women's team boasting four straight conference titles, Baker will play host to the 2023-24 Heart Men's and Women's Bowling Championships on Feb. 24-25 with the tournament taking place at Gage Center Bowl in Topeka, Kan.
