Baker Men’s Golf Claims Team Title, Women Finish Fourth at Park Invite

RESULTS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Baker men's golf had three players earn top-five finishes, including Ben Lemke who finished atop the leaderboard, to lead a Wildcats squad that captured the men's team title at the Park Invite on Monday.

With inclement weather canceling Tuesday's final round of the late-March tournament, the Baker men posted a team score of 297 to finish five strokes ahead of Park (302). The BU women shot a 376 as a team to place fourth, sitting a spot ahead of fellow conference team Culver-Stockton (397), who came in fifth.

Lemke, a freshman from Lincoln, Neb., was the only golfer to shoot even (70) on Monday's lone round with the tournament taking place at The Deuce at The National Golf Club of Kansas City in Kansas City, Mo.

After earning Heart Men's Golfer of the Week honors for his second-place finish from last week's Central Baptist Invite, Drew Lisec followed with another solid round on Monday, shooting a 73 to add a third-place showing to his great start to the spring season. Gavin Dines tied for fifth with a 75 and Cole Fischman finished in the top-10 with a 76 to tie for seventh.

On the women's side, Reagan Kauth was the top finisher for BU after recording a 90 and placing 20th individually. The rest of the Wildcats finished among a pack with Mallory Nelson and Katie Murray tallying matching scores of 95 to tie for 26th. Olivia Morgan (96) and Gracyn Nutsch (98) followed closely behind with Morgan coming in 29th and Nutsch placing 31st.

The next scheduled outing for the Wildcats is the Tabor Invite where the BU women will be in action on April 1-2 in Hesston, Kan. before both squads return back to central Kansas for the Bethany Invite on April 8-9 in Newton, Kan.
