Martin-Montero & Kauth Earn All-Conference Honors as Wildcats Finish 4th at Heart Championships

MORAVIA, Iowa – Wrapping up a strong 2023-24 campaign, the Baker women's golf team competed at the 2024 Heart of America Conference Championship on Monday and Tuesday where they finished in fourth place.

On day one, the golfers played 36 holes, followed by 18 holes on the final day. Baker posted their best score of the tournament in round one, posting a team score of 327 as Paula Martin-Montero shot a team-low score of 79. In the second round of day one, Baker shot a team score of 336 and sat in third place heading into the second day.

Baker then bettered their score from round two by seven strokes to post a final round score of 329 and finished in fourth place for the tournament with an overall score of 992. Mount Mercy took home first place with a score of 938, while William Penn and Park finished second and third with scores of 952 and 988 respectively.

With scores of 79 and two rounds of 81, Paula Martin-Montero finished in eighth place in the tournament and was named to the all-conference team. Reagan Kauth also earned all-conference honors, finishing tied for 13th with scores of 81, 84, and 80. Gracyn Nutsch finished third on the team and top-20 overall with a 19th place finish.

The Baker women's golf team finishes the 2023-24 season with 6 top-five finishes and with a fourth place finish at the Heart of America Conference Championships ties their highest finish in conference since the 2017-18 season.
