OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Shutting out the Statesmen in Oskaloosa for the first time since 2020, the Baker women's soccer team kicked off conference play on Saturday with a strong 3-0 win.

"We did a great job in having a positive reaction after our last game," head coach Sara Matthews said. "The group really came together and locked in at our training sessions through the last whistle today. Every person stepped up in practice and the game for a true team effort. That's what it takes in our conference and I'm very proud of the girls!"

Baker took a total of nine shots in the game, with seven different players taking shots, while Emma Schieber took a game-high three shots. Despite William Penn taking a total of 10 shots in the game, Avery Young and Sophia Holloway combined to complete the shutout as Young had four saves and Holloway had one.
