
BU Women Finish Eighth, Men Place 11th at 2025 Heart Indoor Championships
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Baker track and field teams competed at the 2025 Heart of America Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Maryville, Mo. where the Wildcats came in eighth in the women's standings and 11th in the men's.
BU totaled 19 top-eight finishes between the two teams, including a pair of fourth-place outings from freshman Bailey Arceneaux who took fourth in both the 400-meter run and as part of the Wildcats' 4x400m relay team.
The women's 4x400m relay team consisting of Arceneaux, Shanniel Graham, Jaliah Robinson and Rachel Sterner shaved 11 seconds off their previous-best time from the Washburn Open to take fourth at conference on a combined time of 4:08.09.
Arceneaux added a sixth-place finish in the 200m (25.95), coming in one spot behind teammate Naomi Kilson who ran a personal-best 25.71 to place fifth in the race.
Kilson scored in two other events in Maryville with a fifth-place showing in the long jump (5.50m) and an eighth-place finish in the 60m (7.88). The senior from Long Beach, Calif. secured her spot at nationals after clearing the NAIA 'B' standard in the long jump (5.59m) at the Jim Green Invite last weekend.
Alexis Summers placed one spot ahead of Kilson in the 60m with Summers clocking a 7.82 in the finals to take seventh overall. Hannah Jensen also earned a seventh-place finish in the long jump with her best jump coming at 5.24m. Kristi Chambers scored a point in the women's 3K with a time of 11:21.07.
On the men's side, Aidan Massey, PJ McCallop Jr. and Trot Wood each came away with a fifth-place finish with Massey placing in the mile (4:27.73), McCallop Jr. in the long jump (6.80 meters) and Wood in the 400m (49.08).
Wyatt Allen, Jacob McGlasson, Cutter Meade and Jaden Vohs made up BU's 4x800m relay that took fifth in the event with a time of 8:00.15.
McGlasson joined Massey in scoring points for BU in the mile with McGlasson recording a pace of 4:28.76 and placing seventh.
Competing in his first Heart meet, freshman CarVelle Jones came in seventh in the men's long jump, marking a personal-best 13.22 meters.
Closing out the indoor season, Kilson will head to her second straight indoor nationals meet after qualifying in the long jump last year. The 2025 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships are set for February 27 - March 1 in Gainesville, Fla.
