Heath's Win Over No. 2 Nationally Ranked Opponent Highlights Dual vs. Grand View

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Katherine Heath's win over No. 2 Nationally ranked Cailin Campbell highlighted the Baker women's wrestling dual on Wednesday evening as the No. 19 Wildcats fell to No. 3 Grand View, 32-8.

After a double forfeit at 101 pounds, Grand View got on the board early with a fall at 109 pounds. Then No. 9 nationally ranked stepped to the mat to take on the No. 2 nationally ranked wrestler at 116 pounds. The match went the full time and Katherine Heath picked up a late takedown to receive the win and get Baker on the board as the Wildcats now trailed just 6-3.

Grand View then added to their lead at 123 and 130 pounds, but Belle Hernandez just narrowly lost her match and earned a point for the Baker Wildcats as they trailed 13-4 with five matches to go.

Baker was unable to score a point at 136, 143, 155 and 170 pounds, but Elisa Robinson then picked up a strong tech-fall win at 191 pounds to finish out the dual as Grand View went on to win, 32-8.

With the loss, the Baker women's wrestling team is now 4-1 in duals this season. They will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 15, when they travel to Kansas City, Mo., to compete in the Avila Duals where they will dual with Saint Mary, Avila, Iowa Central and Quincy.
