Heath Tabbed Heart Women’s Wrestler of the Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Senior grappler Katherine Heath was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week following her performance at the NWCA National Duals this past weekend.

Wrestling at 116 pounds, Heath, a senior from Fairview, Texas, went 4-0 in her matches at the two-day competition, including a win over Ajayzee Zaballos of Menlo College, who ranks 11th nationally at 123 pounds.

Heath added tech fall wins in her bouts against Missouri Valley and No. 15 Doane and wrestled to a 6-4 decision against Eastern Oregon's Irma Retano in her first match on Saturday.

Ranking fifth nationally at 116 pounds, Heath carries a 15-3 record on the season and took down the NAIA's No. 2 wrestler earlier this year. Heath is a two-time all-conference wrestler and qualified for the inaugural NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships last season.

Heath and the Wildcats will host their first dual of 2024 with a matchup against conference opponent Missouri Valley on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Collins Center.
