No. 19 Baker Falls in Non-Conference Dual at No. 15 Ottawa, 35-12

OTTAWA, Kan. – No. 19 Baker women's wrestling dropped its non-conference dual at No. 15 Ottawa, 35-12 on Thursday night, snapping a string of back-to-back wins for BU in its previous two outings.

The Wildcats got wins from seniors Abby Halstead and Elisa Robinson and freshman Jaclyn Daley, while the Braves totaled four pins and a couple of tech fall wins to earn their top-20 victory.

After a BU forfeit at 101 pounds, Halstead opened the night up with a 7-2 decision in the 109-pound match to give Baker the first win of the dual.

The Braves came out on top in the next six matches, getting pins at 116, 123, 136 and 155 pounds to seal the dual with a 35-5 lead heading into the final two rounds.

Daley wrestled to an 8-1 decision in the 170-pound match before Robinson closed things out with a tech fall win at 191 pounds to settle the final score at 35-12 in favor of OU.

Entering the final few weeks of the regular season, Baker will be at home to face conference opponent Central Methodist for Senior Night on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. inside the Collins Center. The Wildcats will wrestle ahead of the men's dual (7 p.m.) as part of a Senior Night doubleheader in Collins.
