Wildcats Earn Four Top-Six Finishers at Grand View Open

DES MOINES, Iowa – Highlighted by Katherine Heath's third-place finish, the Baker women's wrestling team had four wrestlers pick up placement honors at the Grand View Open on Saturday in BU's final regular-season tournament of the year.

Heath was one of four Wildcats to finish in the top six in Des Moines, Iowa with the senior from Fairview, Texas winning four of her five matches in a tough Gold 116-pound bracket. Sitting as the NAIA's seventh-ranked wrestler at 116 pounds, she defeated a pair of grapplers that rank ahead of her in No. 6 Presley Anderson of University of the Cumberlands and No. 4 Alejandra Corral of Menlo and had her only loss come against an NCAA DI wrestler in Iowa's Felicity Taylor.

Kylee Slyter took fifth at Gold 109 and Reagan Wonnell added another fifth-place finish in the Silver 143 bracket. Slyter won her first two matches of the tournament before finishing things off with a pin in her fifth-place match, while Wonnell earned three total pins on the day, including a pin in her placement match as well.

Willow Dubois, a freshman from Wellsville, Kan., finished with a fifth-place showing in the Silver 130-pound bracket and won her last five matches of the tournament with four straight pins to place sixth at 130 pounds.

Emma Grossoehme picked up a couple of wins at the single-day tournament, winning via pin and decision at 155 pounds of the Silver bracket.
