Allen Finishes Strong, Takes 167th at 2022 NAIA Cross Country National Championships

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Capping off a strong 2022 cross country season, Brooke Allen took home 167th place on Friday at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships.

"Brooke ran a strong race and put out an awesome effort," head coach Bobby Breon said. "She gained great national experience and she will only build off of it as she gets ready for the upcoming track and field season."

Allen finished 10th place in the Heart of America Conference Championships, which earned her a spot in the NAIA National Championships as she was the only Wildcat to represent Baker at the Championships.

In the first 2,000 meters of the race, Allen posted a time of 6:48.9 and sat in 209th place, but over the next 800 meters, she climbed four spots and was 205th with a time of 10:16.6, just over halfway through the race.

Allen then got rolling late, jumping up 32 spots by the time she reached the 4,000-meter mark, putting her in 168th with just 1,000 meters left to run. She was able to pass six more runners before the end of the race, taking home 167th place with a total time of 19:28.0.
