Allen Competes in Second Straight NAIA Race, Places 154th at 2023 Cross Country Championships

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Qualifying for the second straight year, Brooke Allen of the Baker women's cross country team competed at the 2023 NAIA Cross Country Championships on Friday morning in Vancouver, Wash. where she placed 154th in the 6K race.

With the event being held at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Championship Course, Allen clocked a time of 24:08.1 to finish in 154th among the field of nearly 200 runners. She improved on her mark from the 2022 NAIA race where she finished 167th overall.

The senior from LaCygne, Kan. earned her second straight All-Conference finish after placing fourth at the 2023 Heart of America Cross Country Championships on Nov. 4 to qualify for the national meet. She helped pace a BU women's team that finished third overall at the conference meet.

Shifting things to the track and field season, Allen will join a small contingent of BU distance runners for the 2023 NAIA Marathon National Championships, held in Sacramento, Calif. on Dec. 3.
