FAYETTE, Mo. – The Wildcats used 547 yards of offense to rack up a season-high 58 points as No. 25 Baker posted a dominating effort on the road to defeat Central Methodist, 58-7 on Saturday in Fayette, Mo.

Baker scored 31 unanswered points to open the game and shut out the Eagles in the second half to come away with the landslide victory. With their third conference victory of the fall, the Wildcats move to 7-2 overall and ensures they finish with at least seven wins for the 14th time in the past 15 seasons.

The Wildcats put up over 200 yards on the ground (206) and had their starting quarterback Truman Juelsgaard total four touchdowns in the game. Juelsgaard went 23-for-28 in passing with 238 yards and three touchdowns, while adding a rushing score on the opening drive of the day. DeAndre Pruett Jr. hauled in a season-high 11 catches for 100 yards to give him at least 100 receiving yards in two of his past three games.

After receiving the opening kickoff, Juelsgaard and the BU offense put together a 14-play, 76-yard drive that ended with Juelsgaard running it in from 2-yards out to give Baker a quick 7-0 lead.

Following a quick three-and-out by the defense, the Wildcats came right back out on their next possession and scored on a big 31-yard strike from Juelsgaard to senior Will Roberts. It was Roberts' third touchdown catch of the year and first against a Heart South opponent.

Juelsgaard capped another scoring drive for BU after getting the Wildcats down close with a couple of big gain runs. The sophomore from Lawrence, Kan. found Gavin Greenwood in the end zone to stretch Baker's lead out to 21-0 late in the first quarter.

Pruett became Juelsgaard's third touchdown target of the opening half on BU's next possession after he took a bubble screen 28 yards to the house to give the Baker offense four scores before halftime.

Late in the second quarter, Seth Simpson added a pair of field goals for the Wildcats with the latter one coming in the final seconds of the first half after the Eagles scored their first touchdown of the game to bring the halftime score to 34-7 in favor of BU.

Baker used the second half to create even more separation and control the clock with Gabe Martin capping the Wildcats' first possession by punching one in from a yard out for his fourth touchdown of the year.

After Thad Metcalfe picked off a pass to set BU up in enemy territory, Kirby Grigsby bowled through for another rushing score for the Wildcats to give them a 48-7 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Simpson connected on his third field goal of the game with a 30-yarder to give the sophomore kicker his second game this year with at least three field goals. Grigsby's second touchdown of the afternoon finished off the scoring with a big 36-yard burst with just over a minute left in the game.

Grigsby, a junior from Kansas City, Mo., led the Wildcats in rushing with a season-high 93 yards and two touchdowns. Rashaan Graves rushed 10 times for 71 yards after doing most of his damage in the first half.

For the Baker defense, they marked their fourth game this season with allowing seven points or fewer and forced a couple of turnovers to bring their season total to 23 with 18 interceptions and five fumble recoveries.
