Three Wildcats Named to VSN All-American Team

FARGO, N.D. - Baker football had a trio of players land on Victory Sports Network's 2023 NAIA Football All-American Team with Canon Karn, Gavin Greenwood and Truman Juelsgaard all receiving the postseason honor, the organization announced on Thursday.

Karn earned a first-team nod from VSN after receiving AFCA NAIA All-American First Team laurels earlier this week as his recognition made it the 10th straight year that Baker has featured an All-American on its roster. He ranked second nationally with eight interceptions this season, leading a Wildcats defense that forced the most interceptions in the NAIA this year with 25 total interceptions. The junior from Holton, Kan. was also named the Heart South Defensive Player of the Year after Baker earned a share of the conference regular-season title, finishing as Heart South Tri-Champions.

Greenwood was a second-team honoree following a breakout season for the sophomore pass catcher. He caught a team-high seven receiving touchdowns, while totaling 613 yards on 56 receptions and was a reliable target for Juelsgaard with at least four receptions in eight games this fall. A product of Lincoln, Neb., Greenwood was a first-team all-conference selection along with Karn.

Juelsgaard, a sophomore from Lawrence, Kan., picked up honorable mention honors after leading the Wildcats offense in his first season under center. He threw for over 2,500 yards (2,520) and added over 750 yards on the ground (765), while totaling 28 touchdowns on the year. He was the Heart's Co-Offensive Player of the Year and scored four or more touchdowns in a game on four separate occasions this year.

Going 9-3 overall in their first year under head coach Miguel Regalado, the Wildcats closed out a 2023 season that saw them win eight or more games for the 10th time in the past 12 years and reach the NAIA playoffs for the 20th time in school history.
