Bio

Miguel Regalado enters his second season as head football coach for the Wildcats for the 2024-25 season.

In his first season as head coach, Regalado posted an overall record of 9-3 and led the Wildcats back to the NAIA Playoffs for the program’s 20th postseason appearance where he earned his first postseason victory with a 56-28 win over Louisiana Christian in the first round of the NAIA Playoffs.

Regalado was named the 2023 Heart Co-Head Coach of the Year after helping the Wildcats secure a share of the conference title with the team going 4-1 in conference play and finishing as Heart South Division Tri-Champions. Overall, the Wildcats had 13 players earn all-conference honors and boasted the Co-Offensive Player of the Year (Truman Juelsgaard), Defensive Player of the Year (Canon Karn) and Heart Freshman of the Year (DeAndre Pruett Jr.).

Regalado returned to Baker University in January of 2023 after spending the last five years at Clarke University where he started the football program. Over the last two seasons at Clarke, Regalado coached 16 all-conference players, eight each season.

Before his time in Dubuque, Iowa, Regalado had been a member of the Baker football coaching staff since 2008 and served as the program's offensive coordinator from 2011 to 2017. During that time, he helped amass a record of 81-25 and three seasons with 10 or more wins.

Regalado helped Baker to three Heart of America Athletic Conference championships and five NAIA national playoff appearances, including an NAIA national runner-up finish in 2016. That season, Baker won a record 14 games and marked its first undefeated regular season in program history.

During his first stint at Baker, Regalado served as a position coach for three All-Americans and was a 2016 nominee for NAIA Coordinator of the Year, serving as the offensive coordinator for the 2016 NAIA National Player of the Year, quarterback Logan Brettell.

Regalado started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of South Dakota and then coached at Urbana University from 2004 to 2007.
